Sometimes, the lack of a good night’s sleep
can interfere with an individual’s daily activities. Sleep
problems may interfere with your productivity at work
or may increase your risk for automobile and work-related
accidents. Sleep problems can also increase a
person’s risk for high blood pressure, heart
failure and stroke.
If you’re experiencing sleep problems, our Sleep
Disorders Center can help you sleep better so that
you will have an improved quality of life.
The Sleep Disorders Center is located at 440 Whirl-A-Way
Drive in Danville and is accredited by the American
Academy of Sleep Medicine. This is your assurance
that you are receiving the highest quality of services
in diagnosing and treating your sleep disorders.
It is estimated that one-third of the general population
suffers from a sleep disorder and nearly 60 percent
of individuals with certain diseases, such as congestive
heart failure, have a sleep disorder. With the
expertise of our sleep specialists, we diagnose and
treat sleep-related pathologies in children (age 4
and over) and adults that include circadian rhythm,
insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs, shift-work problems
and sleep apnea.
If you or someone you love is having problems sleeping,
please call us for an initial consultation. During
your initial visit, a sleep specialist will determine
your sleep history, conduct a brief physical exam and
decide if additional diagnostic testing is necessary. If
you need additional testing, we will schedule an overnight
sleep study, which will be conducted in a comfortable,
homelike, private sleep suite. The results of
your sleep study will determine your treatment plan.
If you are already experiencing daytime sleepiness,
it could be a symptom of a sleep disorder. Please
take our Sleep Test quiz to assess your level of daytime
sleepiness.
