Kids Can Do Pediatric Therapy Center

If you have a child who requires rehabilitation services, you can trust the licensed therapists at Kids Can Do Pediatric Therapy Center to provide quality services to help your child achieve maximum functioning ability.  Our Pediatric Therapy Center is the only dedicated pediatric therapy center in south central Kentucky.  It offers comprehensive pediatric therapy services in a child-friendly, family-focused environment.

With a physician prescription, occupational, physical and speech/language therapists assess and treat children with diagnoses including:

  • Autism
  • Developmental delays
  • Speech delays
  • Sensory integration disorders
  • Orthopedic impairment
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Muscular dystrophy
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Articulation disorders
  • Dysphagia
  • Receptive or expressive language delays
  • Many others

Our therapists use a team approach to provide individualized care, involving families while promoting each child's development and independence.  The Center includes individual treatment rooms and a large gym for individual or group therapies. Parents can join in sessions or view their child via a one-way window.

Specialized Pediatric programs include:

Hippotherapy (located in Garrard County)
This unique treatment method uses a horse as the therapeutic tool. The sensory and motor stimuli provided through the skilled use of the child on the horse assists in the development of sensory, motor and language skills.  The program was developed and is coordinated by Director Lisa Dreager, OTR/L, Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist.  Sessions are available in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

Aquatics (located at McDowell Wellness Center)
Therapists use a wide range of skilled activities and exercises in the water to assist a child with mobility, sensory organization and communication.  Aquatics is available year-round.

Community contracts
Our therapists also provide services to children in the community via contracts with local school districts, preschool programs and Kentucky FIRST STEPS.
