These are some of the comments made
by participants in our Student Nurse Extern Program.
This summer program is available to individuals beginning their senior year of nursing school.
If you are selected to participate
in this 10-week program, you will work under the
supervision of a clinical coach in a structured,
problem-based learning curriculum that focuses on
patient care. The program will consist
of three 12-hour shifts on a nursing unit each week.
We pay your in-state tuition for this course. You
will receive an hourly wage and also three hours
of credit from Eastern Kentucky University, although
this program is not limited to participation by EKU
students.
This program is limited to 10 students.
