Public Notice
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
may conduct an unannounced accreditation survey of Ephraim
McDowell Regional Medical Center, which includes MedSource
(home medical equipment).
The purpose of the survey will be to evaluate the organization’s
compliance with nationally established Joint Commission
standards. The survey results will be used to determine
whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation
should be awarded the organization.
Joint Commission standards deal with organizational quality,
safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment
in which care is provided. Anyone believing that
he or she has pertinent and valid concerns about care or
safety issues in the hospital may contact the hospital’s
Patient Representatives or hospital management staff. If
the concerns cannot be resolved through the hospital, an
individual may contact the Joint Commission. Written
comments may be addressed to the address below or an individual
may contact the Joint Commission by calling (800)994-6610
or faxing comments to (630)792-5636 or emailing them to
complaint@jcaho.org.
